“Great Is He” is the latest song written from worship leader Tom Smith and the team of songwriters at Soul Survivor Church, based in the heart of the U.K. worship scene.
Our heart at Soul Survivor has always been to lead people into the presence of God. It’s here in this place we once again fall in love with our Savior, we get to experience the power of the Holy Spirit at work, and we simply are left on our knees adoring Jesus. Our heart beats to see worship once again leading our world into the presence of God. And we won’t stop until we get there.
The song “Great Is He” was written during the midst of the global pandemic. When hope seemed a distant memory, there is only one who can reassure us He is here amongst our chaos. Jesus.
Time & time again we kept coming back to scripture, reading the truth of Jesus, and holding onto His promises.
We didn’t quite know how to lead our churches into the presence of God whilst we couldn’t gather or sing, but we knew declaring His truth will all always be the most accessible item people can grab hold of, to once again worship him.
So we wrote “Great Is He”. A song flooded with the ageless truth’s of our God, declaring He is victorious, He is with us, He is coming back, and there is no one greater than our God. Inspired by Psalm 145:3 (TPT) “Lord, you are great and worthy of the highest praise! For there is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds you”. We can see many taking a whole of this song to lead in churches across the world.
