Thrive Worship, which started as the worship team for Bayside Church in Sacramento, CA, has quickly bloomed into a sprawling, eight-campus worship family whose songs and weekly Sunday night worship services are transforming their Northern California community. An ever-growing, ever-evolving group of diverse singers and musicians, Thrive Worship is writing new songs for the church that sing of a hope for the future and love for the Savior.
I’ve never felt more resolved that the only way to find peace is to remember who is in control.
We’re living during a moment of time that has turned up the volume on scripture for me. As so many mediums are fighting to grab the attention of the world, the importance of clinging to the Word is pinnacle.
“Jesus Song” was born out of a desire to capture Jesus—who He is, what He’s done, and what’s still to come. We felt the prompting to write a song that gives anyone who listens a full picture of the story of Jesus and what his life, death, resurrection and return mean for us.
We’re reminded that all of those things are found in Christ alone.
It re-centers us on the unshakable reality of the gospel: Jesus has already conquered sin and death, and He reigns forever. In a world full of uncertainty and distraction, and it calls us back to the foundation—lifting up the only name that truly deserves all glory and honor.
Our prayer is that this song would lead us into deeper worship and a greater awareness of the fullness of who Jesus is.
That it helps believers not only remember the cross and the resurrection but also look forward to His return with anticipation. Ultimately, we want it to stir up unity in the Church—so that when we sing, we join together with “a billion hallelujahs” as one voice, giving all glory to the Lamb of God.
