“Praise the One”: A Sovereign Declaration from Calvary MSC

Albuquerque, NM – Calvary Church (with Skip Heitzig)

In a world longing for rescue, a worship anthem rises from the heart of Albuquerque: “Praise the One” the latest single from Calvary MSC, the worship collective of Calvary Church led by Pastor Skip Heitzig. This song isn’t just another track it’s a divine summons, a soul-awakening call to acknowledge that Christ is King, that death has been defeated, and that the Church is commissioned to carry that hope to the ends of the earth.

Why We Wrote It

Born from a season of revival, confession, and renewed devotion within Calvary Church, “Praise the One” emerged from deep conversations about who Jesus is and what He’s done both on the cross and in our daily lives. We wrestled together as a worship team:

What does it mean to live under the rule of the risen King?

Our answer became this song a poetic journey through Christ’s role as Savior and Servant, culminating in His resurrection victory and eternal kingship. This truth is what the world needs now a message of mercy and majesty, bound together in worship.

What It Means

  • Redemption & Restoration

The opening verses, “What a Savior. He heard our plea and took our penalty,” evoke the grandeur of grace. They remind us that though humanity was helpless and guilty, Christ stepped into our story to pay the price and pave the path to new life.

  • Resurrection & Reign

Near the end of every worship moment, the chorus bursts forth:

“Praise the One, O praise the King, for Calvary has claimed our victory.”

It’s both an anthem and a prophecy declaring that Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. He rose, defeating death and legitimizing His eternal rule.

Eschatological Hope

In the bridges, we look up with expectation:

“The Lamb who bled now wears the crown. The trumpet sounds will break the sky.”

This isn’t merely worship it’s worship with a horizon, a kingdom coming anticipation that greets darkness with light and binds Heaven and Earth together in praise.

Who We Are – Calvary MSC

Calvary MSC (Music & Song Collective) is more than a band; we are the worship voice of Calvary Church in Albuquerque. Guided by pastoral vision and rooted in prayer, our sound draws from scripture, revival heritage, and communal devotion.

We champion songs that:

  • Bridge ancient truths and modern urgency

  • Empower believers to live spiritually awake

  • Carry sacred invocations into personal and public spaces

With “Praise the One,” we continue our journey of crafting music that’s not only meant to be sung it’s meant to be lived.

A Commissioning to the World

To every reader Christian or seeker we speak this with urgency and love:

This song is a calling.

To lay down the distractions.

To worship the One who lived sacrificially, died sacrificially, and rose definitively.

To let that revelation reshape your heart, ignite your purpose, and empower your calling.

“Praise the One” invites you into the throne room, but it doesn’t end there. You walk out.

  • Walk out with boldness, empowered by the One who has already conquered.

  • Walk out with purpose, knowing our lives proclaim His victory.

  • Walk out to the frontlines of daily life, carrying His light to dark places homes, schools, workplaces, hearts.

A Sacred, Soul-Arresting Moment

There is a hunger in humanity aching for identity, celebration, reclamation, and spiritual awakening. “Praise the One” answers that call with music that is anthemic yet intimate, holy yet human, and ancient yet urgent.

This isn’t just church music. It is incarnational, bridging Heaven and Earth. It is a posture of surrender, praise, and militant hope. This is worship that resonates across platforms, playlists, prayer rooms, and city streets.

So join us.

Sing it in your car, your sanctuary, your cellphone.

Let it stir the dormant places in your soul.

Then rise, commissioned to live under His reign and carry His victory.
