Your debut album is here! Congratulations. How does it feel to have this project out there?

Thank you! I’ve dreamed about making music since I was a little girl, and I’ve always had a deep love for worship. To release a record that’s filled with stories from my journey with the Lord, stories people can find themselves in, truly feels like my childhood dream come to life.

Your professional career began around 2017 when you started singing background vocals for Lauren Daigle. How did that experience shape you and what are some things you learned from Lauren that you’ve taken into your solo career?

I remember working retail, praying that God would open a door for me to do music, and then I got the call to audition for Lauren. What was supposed to be a two-week tour turned into four years.

In that time, I learned so much, not just about music, but about life. Lauren graciously allowed me to see both the onstage and offstage sides of this career. I watched how she treated people with kindness, how she noticed everyone in the room, how she kept her family close and involved.

The way she loved people left a lasting mark on me, and I’ve been intentional about carrying that same heart into everything I do now.

Tell us about going on tour with Maverick City in 2022. What was that experience like as both a worship leader and songwriter?

I still can’t believe I had the chance to sing every night alongside people like Naomi Raine, Brandon Lake, and Kirk Franklin.

In my eyes, they are truly the best of the best, and I never stopped being in awe that God allowed me to be part of something with them. I soaked up every bit of wisdom I could, knowing God had me there for a reason, to teach me and prepare me for the next step in my calling.

How did you balance life on the road and “localized” life leading worship in Tennessee and California?

The local church has always kept me grounded. It’s the safe place I come home to when the shows stop. Having pastors who cover me and a church family who love me for who I am, not just for my gift, means everything. I need both in my life. God has called me to travel and minister to churches all over the country, but I also feel deeply called to the local church.

Honestly, it’s my local church that has made it possible for me to do everything else God has asked me to do.

You recorded these songs live among a group of close friends, family, and fans. Why did you choose a more intimate group of people rather than a big room of worshippers? How do you think this kind of energy shines through in the recordings?

That night was filled with people I love, and people who love me back. Having my family there was especially meaningful. I could look around the room and see faces of those who have truly walked through life with me. That intimacy, that sincerity, created a unique atmosphere I’ll never forget.

My prayer is that you can feel that same closeness and authenticity when you listen to the record.

Tell us about the title track “Not My Will” and any other songs you are most excited for the Church to hear!

“Not My Will” is a reflection of what I’ve had to walk through this past year. My pastor often says,

“The first yes to God is the easy one-you believe. The second yes is harder-it’s when you choose His will over your own.”

I’ve learned the cost of obedience, but I’ve also seen the incredible blessing that comes with it. My hope is that when people hear this song, they feel seen in the tension of surrender, but also encouraged, knowing that on the other side of their “yes” is God’s perfect will, and there’s truly nothing better than that.
