Brett Younker is a pastor, worship leader, and songwriter at Passion City Church in Atlanta, with a heart for helping people see and know Jesus in a real and personal way. Brett has spent his career helping shape the sound and message of Passion Music and the global Passion Movement. As a storied songwriter, he currently has 22 songs in the CCLI Top 2000, including well known anthems like “Build My Life,” “Fall Like Rain,” “No Body,” and “The Lord Will Provide.” Brett has contributed to many songs the Church sings today, and his full catalog has surpassed 1 Billion global streams.

His new project, Keep The Faith, reflects a deeper, more seasoned expression of worship shaped by both joy and hardship. Inspired by 2 Timothy 4:7, the album centers on endurance, choosing to keep believing, trusting, and worshipping through every season. The songs were born from real-life experiences and carry the themes of perseverance, intimacy with God, and a longing to remain tender and in awe of Jesus.

I love what God is doing in His Church right now.

Over the last six years, I have spent time leading the young adults of our church and at the Passion Conference. God is moving so powerfully in Gen Z. In a world full of confusion, they are hungry for something real and true.

I’ve been inspired by their desire to encounter the Lord in worship and in prayer. As a millennial leader, I’ve been both challenged and sharpened by their zeal for God. I want that more and more in my own life. In some ways, it seems easier to feel that way in your 20’s when life is full of possibility.

The tension comes in your 30’s and 40’s when you’ve experienced some roadblocks and set backs. It seems easier to get burned out and give up. How do you keep the fire alive?

My new album, Keep The Faith, is all about that journey.

It has songs of hunger like, “Fall Like Rain.” This song comes from a season of really wanting to know the friendship, comfort and help of the Holy Spirit in my everyday life. The prayer of never losing the wonder is one I will pray the rest of my life.

What a gift the Holy Spirit is! He is so close and so powerful. He helps us see and know Jesus and live in the fullness of life that Jesus promises.

The album also has songs of pure worship. Like David writes in Psalm 27, his one desire is to dwell in the house of the Lord and worship Him alone. Songs like, “Only Here To Worship,” “What A Worthy Name” and “Holy and Pleasing,” are all about exalting Jesus and surrendering all of our lives to Him.

When we worship and seek the presence of the Lord, we can transcend the troubles of our day. It might not change the immediate circumstance, but it will most certainly change our perspective. I think in the Church, more of us need a perspective shift. We need to lift our eyes to see the Lamb who is on the throne and let that inform how we process and navigate our days.

There are also songs of defiant faith.

“The Lord Will Provide,” has been our declaration when the future feels uncertain. Choosing faith over fear has reshaped our minds and our hearts to conform to the image of Christ and His Kingdom. We have a Father in heaven who knows what we need even before we ask Him. Songs like “No Body,” give weight to the reality that God has power over the grave.

It’s His light that shines into whatever darkness we might be up against.

The title track, “Keep The Faith,” is a life prayer. It’s based on Paul’s words in 2 Timothy 4:12. Paul, Peter and the other disciples gave it all for the sake of the Gospel. Paul wrote these words in a prison cell awaiting a death sentence. Talk about radical discipleship! Eternity was so big in their minds and hearts.

Life is hard. It’s so tough to navigate heartbreak, health issues, or whatever may come our way. Whether you’ve been walking with Jesus for a little or a long time, I pray God would use these simple songs of worship to stir your heart and faith.

I’ve actually found that when seasoned saints keep a soft heart towards the things of God they burn so bright in a world searching for hope.

So, keep believing and keep singing. God is worthy of it all.
