SEU Worship
SEU Worship is the worship movement out of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. We’re a collective of faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and we get to capture the sound of worship that flows from our weekly chapel gatherings and community.
Their new album, Found in the Field, is rooted in the parable of the hidden treasure. It’s a reminder that the kingdom of heaven isn’t something we just observe from a distance - it’s something we’re invited to seek after.
The Writing Process
Writing this new album has been such a special journey for our team.
We started in Orlando with our core artists, alumni, and people we’ve come to call family, then headed to California to write with Aodhan King. From there, we made our way to Dallas to write with our friends Abbie Gamboa, Anna Golden, Joel and Elyssa Figueroa, and the JOGS crew.
It’s been so fun creating with so many people we love and seeing how God has brought all these different voices and stories together for this album.
The Recording Process
The recording process for this album has been such a special picture of what God is doing in our community.
We recorded “i rlly luv u” with Aodhán King in a chapel, captured “Wild Rushing Wind” live at SEU Conference, and then came together Monday night and Tuesday morning to record the rest of the album in our chapel. Abbie and Gabe Gamboa and Dave Cruz came down to help us, and the whole process felt like a culmination of so many different recordings, people, and moments along the way.
More than anything, these songs capture the powerful way God is moving on our campus and through our community.
The Title
The title, Found in the Field, comes from the parable of the hidden treasure found in Matthew 13:44. It’s a reminder to us that the kingdom of heaven isn’t something we just observe from a distance - it’s something we’re invited to seek after. We come expectant to encounter the glory of Jesus, to search, and to find… to be found in the seeking.
The Hope
We hope that this album takes you back to a place of beholding Jesus.
The only one worthy of our entire life, devotion, and attention. And that you would experience the JOY OF THE LORD to do it.
